Dai Rees
Dai Rees is an artist, designer, curator and academic. He was born in Bridgend, Wales. After studying for a BA in ceramics Central Saint Martins, he studied for an MA in ceramics and glass at the Royal College of Art 1992-1994.
He launched his own fashion label in the nineties and started working with designers to create show accessories, including the memorable quill head pieces for Alexander McQueen’s Spring Summer ‘97 collection ‘La Poupee’ and the body and head quill constructions for Julien MacDonald’s Autumn Winter ‘97 ‘Mermaids’ and Spring Summer ‘98 ‘Modernist’ collections. He showed his own collections at London Fashion Week and sold to some of the most famous boutiques in the world. His work is held in major public and private collections including at the V&A in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. He is currently the Course Director for MA Fashion Artefact at London College of Fashion.
