Fat, Black, and Single is a comedy-drama TV show that depicts the Black-British experience of three girlfriends in their twenties.

Description by maker:
What would you do if the Tinder match you awkwardly sexted with online was your new
housemate? Well, that’s the exact premise of Fat, Black, and Single, a fresh, fun, returnable comedy about three girlfriends who receive a new unlikely housemate. Unbeknownst to them, he could be the solution to all their problems...

Fat, Black, and Single is a hysterical TV show presenting a comedy-driven perspective of
the Black British experience in their twenty-somethings. While I draw from my own
university experiences, like arguing with my flatmate about which cap of milk is socially
acceptable or stumbling in on randos doing coke in my shower, Fat, Black, and Single
zooms into what university is like for black Britons, especially those who attend
universities outside of big cities or in rural areas.

Fat, Black, and Single has 8 episodes within the first season and every episode is 30
minutes in length. Whilst each episode would zoom in on a specific character, we still get a sense of an ensemble. It’s similar to shows like Abbott Elementary or The Office, where
there is a key story in an episode, but also subplots running beside them too.

Fat, Black, and Single is a comedy-drama inspired by the likes of "Fresh Meat," "Sex
Education," and "Crashing". Similar to those shows, it relies on its ridiculous situations and real, sarcastic humor that pays homage to the traditions of classic British comedy. So think of arguments over Indian bhunas, like in Gavin and Stacey or the fear of running into Mrs “Boo-kay”, like in Keeping Up With Appearances.
