Oman (お万) was a candy seller in Edo from the end of the Bunka (文化) period to the Tempo (天保) period. His art was his skilful sales pitch. Oman was a male peddler dressed as a female and Oman danced while selling candy. It was well received by people in Edo and became a popular subject for dance performances in Kabuki.
