DescriptionOne of a series of posters commissioned by Frank Pick, Head of the London Underground, from staff and students of the Central School of Arts and Crafts and St. Martins School of Art. Walter Spradbery was a watercolorist, linocut artist, poster designer and art teacher. He specialised in landscapes showing the countryside around London and his poster designs were produced mainly for London Transport, although he received some commissions for the LNER and British Railways.
