She has been shortlisted for the Jerwood drawing prize twice and was included in the Bloomberg’s Young Contemporary show in 2006.
Nasu’s practice takes inspiration from the visual language of gossip magazines and discarded newspapers. Unfamiliar with the cultural references or celebrities in contemporary British media stories, Yuko Nasu is free to develop my own interpretations. Yuko’s work obsessively revisits this theme, combining a variety of physical features to forge new identities and imagined histories.
