Wendy Connelly

Painter and teacher who was born in Liverpool. After summer school art courses at the Menia and Nelson Centre, North Wales, 1986–8, did a foundation course at Cheshire College of Further Education, 1987–8; an art history course in northern Italy, 1987, with further tuition there in 1988; and gained an honours degree in painting at Central St Martins School of Art and Design, 1988–91. In 1989 she taught at Menia and Nelson Centre summer school. Among her awards was the Boise Scholarship for travelling in Spain in 1992. Group exhibitions included Winsford Lodge, Cheshire, 1987; RCamA Summer Exhibition from 1990; Mostyn Art Gallery, Llandudno, 1991; and Bath and Islington Art Fairs, 1992. Her first solo show, at Bernard Jacobson Gallery in 1993, sold out.
