Maiko Takeda is an accessory artist/ designer whose creations evoke both awe and intrigue. She transforms tangible and mundane materials into surreal and ethereal experiences, for the wearer and the surrounding environment.

Born and raised in Tokyo, Maiko has a MA in Millinery from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Jewellery Design from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London.

Her work has been exhibited and acquired by a number of renowned museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Maiko has collaborated on various projects with Björk, Google Cultural Institute, Nike Lab and the film Hunger Games: Mockingjay 2.

After 6 years of experience as an accessory designer at Issey Miyake in Tokyo, she moved to Germany to start her own studio in 2020.

Currently, she works on her new body of work as well as continuing to collaborate on various projects.
