Christopher Whall

Birth Date: 1849
Death Date: 1924

Trained as an artist at the Royal Academy Schools, Whall specialised in stained glass from
1879, learning his craft by working for a number of different firms. Taught stained glass and design at the Central School from 1896 to 1904 and as a visitor from1905 to 1908. A member of the Art Workers Guild and Master in 1912. He wrote a number of books including "Stained Glass Work" (John Hogg, 1905), one of the Artistic Crafts Series of Technical Handbooks edited by Lethaby.
