Arts Lab Robert Street (aka New Arts Lab; Institute for Research in Art and Technology IRAT)
The New Arts Lab inherited the Drury Lane Lab’s commitment to showcasing alternative artforms, adding to the mix video (TVX), computers and a fully functioning film processing lab (Le Grice & LFMCo-op). Its five days per week cinema was again programmed by Curtis, taking full advantage of the NAC collection recently donated by Mekas to the LFM co-op distribution library; its gallery was scheduled by Peppin, Zoline and others and was the site of Jim Ballard’s Crashed Cars exhibition, Breakwell & Hilliard’s joint show and many others. (See also TVX and London Filmmakers Co-op, both based at IRAT for its duration). posters,
