Theo Matejko
Birth Date: 1893
Death Date: 1946
Matejko was drafted into WWI and forced to abandon his education as a painter. He quickly took up the challenge of graphic reportage and illustration and this led to his start as a poster artist and designer. After 1919 he worked on many film poster projects, including those for the expressionistic masterpieces "The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari" (1919) and "Doctor Mabuse the Player" (1921). Reportage included reports from the Graf Zeppelin (1928) and of the grand prix racing scene where he became friends with Hans Stuck.
