Karma Casto

Karma Casto is a visual storyteller, writer and photographer from the Northwest of England, studying Fashion Journalism at Central Saint Martins. Rebuking the lifeless technological wash that erases human experience, history and authenticity, her goal is to ensure that her work is imbued with meaning, always. Casto’s practice takes old romanticism and reimagines it through contemporary culture, unearthing the universal language of traditional stories and archetypes to create familiarity. She is particularly interested in the emotional life of garments: how clothing can carry where we have been, who came before us, and how we choose to be seen. Her work is for the people, and so she threads the language of the people into everything she makes.
