Funmi is a UK based industrial designer with a passion for creating sustainable products for diverse communities. Her innovative graduate project Eso Extension aims to address the unique need of black woman in the beauty industry through plant-based hair extensions that are kinder to the body and environment. Since graduating from Central Saint Martins and winning the Mullenlowe Nova Award, she has been utilizing the funding to continue to develop Eso Extension. Funmi believes in the importance of promoting eco-friendly practices through an intersectional lens within the beaty sector. Her work seeks to challenge the conventional norms of hair products by providing options that are both environmentally responsible and culturally relevant.
