Biography from the artist:
Originally from Vienna, Rosa lived in London for five years, where after graduating from Morley
College/Ravensbourne Universi§ with a BA (hons) in Fashion Design, she continued her studies
with the MRes in Art: Theory and Philosophy at Central Saint Martins, graduating in summer 2O22.
She collaborated with Austrian designer KAYIKO, designing and constructing bags from recycled
candy bar wrappings, shown at Vienna Fashion Week (2014). For the interactive and immersive
performance "Enter the Garden Rosa. Exit your Comfort Zonei' (June 2018 & August 2019),
debuting at Safehousel in Peckham, she created the concept, texts, and costumes, as well as
managing the production. During Live Sketching sessions, next to the Tate Modern (May 2019),
London pedestrians decided on the value of the multidisciplinary afistt minute illustrations.
Using the phrase "pick a sketch, pay what you want", she juxtaposed her work against the
museum's projected landscape and the art market. Besides having assisted at London Fashion
Week, volunteered as a costume design assistant at the Lewisham Youth Theatre, supported
s§lists at photo shoots (eg. The Protagonist Magazine), completed an lnternship at Designer and
CSM alumnus Ren6 Scheibenbauer's eponymous label, and regularly working as a gallery associate
for a renowned Viennese gallery (Galerie Ulysses), she was also costume designer in residence for
the Austrian theatre festival "Hin&Weg" (Augu$ 20191 and did the costume design for the theatre
production "Ritter, Dene, Voss" by Azelia Opak in 2020. ln 2021 and 2022 she created illustrations
for the Austrian Jewish Magazine for Politics and Culture "NU". With her Master's project and
thesis "Reality is not what it seems. Reality is what it seamsi Rosa explored the notion of the
seam and used it to investigate our understanding of reality. From September until December
2022 she worked as an intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.
Rosa works between the fields of academic research and writing, art installations, live
performance, garment consüuction, and conceptual design. She takes inspiration from her
interests in philosophy, psychology, physics, literature, and art history. Her intellectual but playful
approach to areas of research gives her the freedom to respond with various media and create
works that feel fresh and current.
