Livingstone Sango
Birth Date: 1926
Livingstone Sango was born in what is now Zimbabwe on 12th September 1926. He worked as a shepherd and as a storekeeper before becoming a student at the Cyrene Mission, where his talents as a sculptor and artist were developed by Father Patterson. He left Cyrene in 1949 and worked as a "skinner" at the National Museum. While there he learned the art of taxidermy and Sango's artistic talents were utilised to the full in the field of museum display.
