Sarah Firmin

Printmaker, designer and teacher; born Sarah Firmin in London. She studied painting at St Martins School of Art, 1950-55 and for a master's degree in contemporary art practice at Kingston University, 1996-8. She studied printmaking at the London College of Printing and Graphic Art with the printmaker, Francis Carr, whom she married and became Dorothy Carr (the name under which she exhibited), she later reverted back to name of Sarah Firmin. She taught at Croydon College of Art and St Martin's and freelanced as a textile and wallpaper designer.
The V&A Museum holds examples of her work, as well as the British Museum.
