During WWII, she joined the Wrens and was posted to Bletchley Park

Worked as an illustrator for London fashion houses and national newspapers, covering the Paris collections four times a year

In 1953 she started teaching the occasional drawing class in the fashion department at St Martin’s School of Art. She started to work as a lecturer in 1964, a senior lecturer in 1967 and a principal lecturer in 1970.

She was Deputy head of fashion at St Martin’s School of Art, where students included Bruce Oldfield, Gladys Perint Palmer

She was Acting Head of the Fashion Department at St Martin’s School of Art between 1975 and 1977.
