Frank (Fred) Partridge (1877-1946)

Fred Partridge was the younger brother of Ethel Mairet (1872-1952). Fred studied in Birmingham Municipal School of Art. He was a member of the Guild of Handicrafts at Chipping Camden as a jeweller between 1902 and 1903.
He taught at Camberwell School of Art (c.1907-1909), before setting up a workshop with his wife May Hart, an artist enameller, in Soho and they became regular suppliers to Liberty. Hart died in 1917 and Partridge moved to Ditchling in 1920 with his second wife, Nellie and their daughter Joan.
