Keshi Gel Pearl bracelet
Collection:CSM Museum & Study Collection
Date: 2025
Artist: Saravich Sungtrakankul
Medium: Gel nail polish, silk cord, classic pearl clasp, pearl chrome powder
Object number: J.2025.49.CC
DescriptionA faux pearl bracelet made using gel nail polish, as part of Saravich Sungtrakankul's 'Maybe Pearl' final collection.
Description by the aritst:
This bracelet is crafted from multiple layers of pearly gel nail polish, echoing the natural
process of pearl formation where nacre builds up over time. It is inspired by the ‘Keshi
pearl,’ which is created entirely from nacre without a central core. In the same way, my
bracelet’s ‘pearl’ is formed wholly from gel nail polish.
Process:
1. Buy pearlescent gel nail polish
2. Apply first few layers of gel nail polish until it forms a three-dimensional shape
3. Enhance the faux pearl by applying metallic chrome powder
