DescriptionEmily studied BA Fashion Jewellery at London College of Fashion. Her artist's statement tells us that 'Domestic Miniatures' (the series of which this ring is a part) is a collection inspired by lived-in, messy spaces, looking into the designers' own experiences of moving away from home and transitioning into adulthood.
The use of found objects and materials in each piece stems from the designers' upbringing in a quiet coastal town, collecting shells, rocks and driftwood and finding ways to turn them into pieces of art without the desire for perfection. However, the desire to create miniatures stems from a place of comfort and control, whereby the designer feels it is “easier to manage a space when it fits in the palm of your hand"'.
