DescriptionYaya studied MA Fine Art: Painting at Camberwell College of Arts. She says, 'In my recent practices, the boundaries of a 'frame' is being investigated, which the physicality of the painting frame could be interpreted as a metaphor of other objects such as windows, as to conceptually transport the viewers to another space through a specific viewpoint. The Window extends my ongoing investigation into the dual function of window and painting frames by recontextualizing the window as a metaphorical and literal framing device. Each painted window captures a fleeting moment glimpsed in transit, echoing the sensation of disconnection and suspended observation often experienced in modern urban life'.
