DescriptionJingyao studied MA Designer Maker at Camberwell College of Arts. She says: 'One of the roles of drug coating is to enhance the visual appeal of drug appearance and provide positive sensory stimulation for patients, emphasizing that drug design considers not only efficacy but also aesthetics. The concept of "aesthetic value" and "visual appeal" closely aligns with principles in jewellery design, inspiring me to integrate tablets and capsules as gemstones within jewellery pieces. By placing these medicinal elements where gemstones typically appear, I aim to celebrate the humanistic value behind aesthetic choices in drug design. Additionally, I want to explore whether a drug coated in jewellery could offer a more pleasing sensory experience for the patient when they use jewellery to carry their daily medicine'.
