DescriptionRebecca Odessa studied MA Fine Art: Digital at Central Saint Martins. She says: these paintings are part of a body of figurative work I developed for my masters research project. Thematically, the work explores the relationship between water and bones within the context of a sacred well on the Isle of Man, the water of which was once believed to cure bone pain. This subject is of personal importance to me, due to witnessing my mother suffering from the debilitating and agonising reality of degenerative bone disease, which is something many people have to contend with as they age. Painting titles are in Manx Gaelic.
