DescriptionMy project focuses on supporting children from Ukraine who have been displaced due to the ongoing conflict. Having personally experienced the challenges and trauma of being forced to leave my homeland, I am acutely aware of the difficulties involved in relocating to an unfamiliar environment. The initiative involves hosting an art therapy event specifically for Ukrainian children who have relocated to London as a result of the conflict. I have coordinated with a Ukrainian school in London, which has graciously agreed to host the event at their facility. The art therapist facilitating the sessions is an experienced Ukrainian professional with over a decade of experience in art therapy, including numerous sessions conducted in Kyiv.

The art therapy sessions will be held weekly and offered free of charge. The primary objectives are to provide these children with a platform to express their trauma and to foster a sense of belonging and comfort in their new environment. Additionally, we aim to build a supportive Ukrainian community for their parents, who are also encouraged to participate and remain during the sessions. Our project is sponsored by a Ukrainian brand now based in London, known for its support of Ukrainian start-ups and charitable initiatives in recent years.
