Navy blue fabric panels stitched together and stretched over a square canvas frame. In the top right corner, a panel of the same blue material with metal pop studs overlaps the frame. Near the centre of the frame a carabiner attached to the material holds a fabric badge with words reading 'talk to me I'm on CB 10.4'.

Nan's Glovebox 2004

Date: 2023
Artist: Eva Dixon
Dimensions:
35 x 35cm
Medium: Machine sewn fabric on stretcher, carabiner, paracord, eyelet, metal snaps
Object number: UAC 1109
DescriptionEva studied BA Fine Art: 2D pathway at Central Saint Martins. She says:
'The title of the painting is in reference to my Nan’s Ford Falcon from the 80’s/90’s. I have very clear memories of the green and black vinyl print wrap on her centre console. I spoke to my parents about it recently and they said the interior was black, with no such tartan. My memories of this seem absolute, so regardless, this painting in homage to a Ford Falcon interior that never was, exists'.
