DescriptionAsha studied BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. She says this piece 'was created for my multi-media degree show installation at Chelsea College of Arts. Using film, sound, ceramics and playlists, the whole installation explored intergenerational, religious and physical trauma. The ceramic is a physical manifestation of my own trauma, representing disease and bodily disfigurement. The making process was a challenge to my own ability as my disease affects my hands primarily. The film (part of the installation) visualises my fears of illness, deterioration of body and time, and the unrecognisable past. Storytelling with photographs, the film draws parallels between my dad’s disease and mine, showing an intergenerational cycle of illness and its effects'.
