DescriptionTara studied BA Sculpture at Camberwell College of Arts. She says:
'This piece frames the tradition of weaving and the beauty of the leaves themselves which were foraged in South London. The materiality comments on the many layers of our geopolitical history in the UK where these trees were transplanted from distant conquered lands and originally displayed as a sign of colonial dominance. I have chosen to weave in order to revive a tradition passed down in Caribbean history and in turn revive my connection to its place of origin.'
