''Unseen' focuses on young British Muslims whose identity does not fit within mainstream Islamic culture. My goal is to explore their relationship with faith and community, as well as how they deal with having mismatching and sometimes contradicting identities. The aim of the project is to both provide visibility to marginalised youth in the community and normalise their existence, as well as open up discussion about inclusivity in the Islamic world and the role of the community. The project aims to be collaborative, to ensure that the participants are represented through their own self-identity rather than my personal interpretation of who they are.'
