The project was an investigation to o question conventional visual presentation on the flatland and explore an alternative approach of information design.
Conducting my own day-to-day experience as a starting point, I identified the most familiar and frequent physical experience that I have is the graphic communication design studio located in the Central Saint Martins campus, where I spend most of my time alone and with peers. Furthermore, by collecting and analysing the existing wayfinding system, or map designs in building, I found the visual presentations were too official and practical and there is a lack of communication of the excitement and the vibrancy that we experience every day.
A multi-dimensional map designed to document our vibrant life in the GCD studio on one of our ordinary days, to reflect on our emotions and the environment around us. It aims to be an unconventional map that truly represents the uniqueness of us and our studio experience. It is also an experimentation of exploring how invisible data can be presented differently through the enhancement of unconventional tools, such as objects, space and digital technique.
