Mellom Press Manifesto

Date: 2020
Artist: Silje Ree (Norwegian)
Dimensions:
17.6 x 10.7cm
Medium: Letterpress print on rag paper
Object number: UAC 1012
DescriptionSilje studied MA Book Arts at Camberwell College of Arts. Her artist's statement says that 'This artistic manifesto illuminates the core values of Mellom Press, a publishing company founded and managed by Ree which is devoted to multilingual visual poetry and exploring different methods of communication through a combination of language and imagery. Putting emphasis on the visual elements of language lessens the linguistic meaning and opens for different interpretations. The connections and disconnections created from translation between medium and languages are being examined. Logo designed by Vivian Ree.'
