DescriptionHat, part of a costume for the character of a pilgrim. The accessory was designed by Leon Bakst for the Ballet Russes production of La Dieu Bleu (The Blue God), which opened in 1912.
The hat is shaped by a wire frame and is screen printed with green polka dots and is decorated with pearlescent sequins. There are two round stamps in blue ink, stamped to the inside lining.
The hat formed part of a costume for a pilgrim, which also included a sash (see BRS.A.21).
