DescriptionPaper stencils, each with panel of cut design: 1. Gourds, outlines and solid, ground interspersed with tiny flowers. 2. Butterflies. 3. Abstract geometric design of interlocking diagonal shapes over horizontal bands. 4. Waves composed of broken lines, and light sources with rays around them. 5. Small intricate leaves and stems. 6. Large peony-type flower heads, one group of three, one single, one group of four against background of irregularly-spaced zig-zag lines each of which is composed of double row of bell shaped flowerheads. 7. Large turtles with intricately patterned shells on grid of irregular polygonal shapes. 8. Repeating squares in chequer-board pattern, one set of squares consisting of four blocks of parallel lines with simple flower head in centre, the other consisting of cross formed of four blocks of four parallel lines. On unevenly surfaced waxed paper. 9. Repeating large peony-type flower heads and leaves on background of abstract snail-like shapes. 10. Repeating abstract grid formed by diagonal wavy lines, each section of grid filled with variants on one of five designs - clouds and dots, round petalled flowers, chestnut leaves, chestnut leaves and hexagons, overlapping shells and round petalled flowers. 11. Two large sprays of thistle-like flowers and leaves, one facing up, and one down, against background of spaced dots. 12. Tartan-like grid of thick and thin lines intersecting at right angles. 13. Grid of broken horizontal lines in alternating bands of thick lines and thin lines, against which is series of circular motifs containing symbols of good luck. 14. Finely cut repeating design of tiny diamonds with dots in centres, against which are set small flower head motifs, some single, some double. Small tear in bottom right hand corner. 15. Finely-cut repeating small trellis-work, each diamond shape containing cross. Two small tears. 16. Finely-cut repeating narrow horizontal lines in blocks divided by single row of tiny linked squares each with circle punched in centre. Bands of tiny dots along middle of each block of lines. One band of squares and circles at top of stencil has broken away at one end. 17. Finely-cut tiny trellis design. Damaged in several places. 18. Finely-cut repeating tiny dots arranged in groups of three. Uneven black paper. 19. Finely cut repeating blocks of five horizontal lines interspersed alternately with broader bands of two of geometric pattern. 20. Repeating design of real characters in diamond and gourd shaped motifs against grid of simple leaf and stem pattern. 21. Geometric interlinking broken diamonds, some solid, some cut away in broken trellis design over fine vertical/horizontal grid, others solid, but with cut-out part concealed outline, stylised flower motifs. 22. Repeating pattern of two sorts of flower heads contained within wavy lines of irregular thicknesses. 23. Repeating border design: (a) rose-like flower heads and leaves, small pug dogs, and tiny crosses, above; (b) band composed of three fine broken horizontal lines, above; (c) row of stylised four-petal flower shapes, above; (d) band of geometric decoration (broken triangles and dashes) contained within borders of two fine broken horizontal bands above; (e) border of two rows of alternating stylised half-flower heads with band of tiny dots between them. One section of (b) broken. 24. Flower heads, bamboo and complicated motifs ornamental with concentric squares on uneven paper. 25. Two sprays of flower and leaves, placed diagonally on page and facing alternate ways, motifs with blurred edges like ikat printed textiles. 26. Finely-cut repeating design of stylised flower heads within decorative circles interspersed with blossoms against fine horizontal/vertical grid. Mounted on pale yellow paper. 27. Repeating abstract design of tiny lines and shapes like series of tiny flags. 28. Large and small three-legged stools against background of spaced tiny dots. 29. Large simple snow-flake motifs over finely cut large triangles containing blossom. 30. Crosses and double crosses (like noughts and crosses grids) of various sizes. Double crosses and some single crosses composed of fine double parallel lines. 31. Flower heads against ground of parallel diagonal bamboo canes. 32. Five petalled blossoms and buds. 33. Abstract geometric shapes through which are seen branches of maple leaves. Other areas of design studded with seals. 34. Repeating design of daisy chains forming patchwork, pieces of which filled with regular pattern of small dots. 35. Finely-cut long looping strands of leaves and tiny flowers. 36. Finely-cut spaced tiny dots, interspersed with slightly larger ones. 37. Finely cut repeating design of tiny geometric shapes interspersed with double dashes in close vertical columns. 38. Finely-cut repeating design of tiny geometric shapes formed in interstices of curves and lines. 39. Finely-cut repeating design of tiny alternating broken triangles, open and dotted. 40. Finely-cut tiny linked blossoms formed of dotted outlines. 41. Open scrolling vetch-like flowers making crazy patchwork outline. 42. Two motifs - gourds, bat-like leaves, simple five-petalled flowers and bamboo canes, placed diagonally on spaced blocks of three narrow lines. 43. Zig-zag bands in which are tiny flying birds, imposed on horizontally spaced pattern of bamboo canes. 44. Repeating tiny oval, veined leaves, outlines composed of dots, on background of spaced dots of same size. 45. Patterned bats against tartan-like grid of thick and thin lines. 46. Large peony heads against acanthus scrolls. 47. Large sunflower-like blooms and small pointed leaves. 48. Long curving lines and butterflies, over mesh of narrow, roughly parallel horizontal lines. 49. Tiny bird-like motifs scattered over ground of spaced rows of three narrow horizontal lines, crossed in three places on design by two parallel verical rows of geometric motifs like formalised script. 50. Waved lines and fan shapes composed of tiny dots with other interstices in design filled in with shaded pattern of dots. 51. Grid pattern of broken diamonds, filled in alternately with pattern of horizontal vertical checks made up of brands of nine fine lines, and solid colour at the cross over points; and, tartan-like pattern of smaller squares. 52. Trellis of thick and thin horizontal dashes on top of which are three flower motifs. 53. Finely cut three bands of roughly parallel, wavy lines, composed of tiny dots. Ground covered in spaced tiny dots. Three large six-petalled flowers visible under waves, and three small fine-petalled flowers on top of waves. 54. Two large sprays of honeysuckle-like flowers and leaves lie diagonally across design. Ground composed of two sizes of tiny dots, thicker around sprays than between them.
