DescriptionKidd studied BA Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martins. This project is a response to Dregish bog, a raised bog in County Tyrone, and explores the parallels between bogs and the experiences of the people of Northern Ireland in contemporary history. This is symbolised within the pieces through the exploitation of process and material: thrown porcelain with a turf ash glaze. The turf was collected using traditional tools and methods from the bog and burnt in Belfast, with the remaining ash used in the glaze.
