DescriptionÇağlar studied MA Art and Science at Central Saint Martins. She says this work ‘is a result of a participatory process where the exiled participants were asked about what they have brought with them from their homeland. After the interview process where the participants tell their story, we decide together how to photograph. Their narratives are attached to the photos like scrolls, leaving places for the things that are yet to come.
The process was considered as a reflective, even a symbolic, way of anchoring them in their new surroundings and going through bereavement as well as a way of forging new hopes.'
