DescriptionPencil drawings showing the front and back of a woman's gown at the V&A (136-1900) of ivory silk with figured diaper ground and brocaded floral sprays. The gown was probably first made as a sack and then remade in the early 1780s with much piecing. More alterations were made in the late 19th century.
