DescriptionPerspective view of a courtyard of a Tudor building, castellated red brick with stone facings. This watercolour (unsigned), was hung in the Principal's office at the Central School and was probably made by Lethaby in later life. Probably made whilst Lethaby was on his travels, it could be dated as early as 1880 (his first Soane Tour of France) and as late as 1914 (re. Rubens statement that Lethaby and his wife visited the continent at least once yearly between 1900 and 1914.) The rather measured and almost leisurely style seem to suggest the latter.
