DescriptionWatercolour of 18th century women hanging up the washing in a courtyard, pencil & wash drawing of same subject on verso. A print of this drawing appeared as frontispiece in January 1803 as Green-Arbour Court, Old Bailey, (despite the inscription) where Dr Goldsmith resided in 1758 and1759.
