DescriptionSmall face in profile within the infill of a major initial ('O') on a blue ground. The initial sits on a gold rectilinear ground with black outlining and white overpainting; extended foliate decoration (acanthus) in red, blue and green. The stylised gold dots (with black outlines) are common among manuscripts made in Bologna, it has in fact become a trademark of Bolognese manuscript illumination of this period. Text in textualis rotunda script with one litterae florissae in red and blue.
