‘Dear Philadelphia is a thank you piece to the city for its strength beauty and unity. It focuses mainly on the lives of youth in the area who I have worked with as part of my participation photography project ‘Capturing Miracles’. I spent several months in and out of North Philadelphia wandering the streets and meeting the community that is often judged for its poverty, drug abuse and violence. I desired to learn more about the people face to face. So Dear Philadelphia uses intimate portraits to focus on the human within the area, especially on the child.’
