DescriptionMcCrum studied MA Printmaking at Camberwell College of Arts. This print is from a series inspired by Thomas Cole’s ‘The Course of an Empire’, a series of allegorical paintings depicting the growth and decline of an imaginary ancient city. Concentrating on the changing landscapes within the paintings, McCrum focusses on individual aspects of imagery, reimagining his metaphor in a pared down setting.
