DescriptionJohn Sarginson studied BA Painting at Camberwell College of Arts. He says:
'My practice is primarily concerned with how we construct visual languages, the subtle cues that exist in our minds that allow us to understand something as dull, interesting, repulsive, or even art. The image is moot, anything I can say about art can only describe, never explain material praxis. I want to explore primordial, intuitive feelings, to deconstruct our visually codified world to create an area where these rules can be suspended, explored and manipulated. Eastern influences impact my art, particularly the folk practices of Chinese, Indonesian and Indian art.'
