Kizo (喜蔵) is the husband of Okoma (お駒), daughter of Shirokiya. He comes from a wealthy family and Okoma married Kizo for Kizo's dowry for Shirokiya, which had become poorly run. However, he is nearly killed by Okoma, Okoma's mother and Saizo (才三), an employee of Shirokiya and Okoma's lover.
