DescriptionDuring the Edo period, there were also a number of Yakusha-e (役者絵, Kabuki actor printings) that stimulated the imagination of Kabuki fans. One of these was to bring popular actors, who could not perform together together on a single screen in a one frame. This print is thought to be one such example. The red letters in the white circles on each actor's costume are assumed to represent the name of the role.
