DescriptionMagee studied BA Photography at Camberwell College of Arts. 'The Displacement of Common Houseplants' is a series exploring the idea of commodification and displacement of plants which have become commonplace for a domestic environment. Each plant has been purchased, photographed and then returned to the place of purchase. By exploiting the sale and return system employed in the retail sector the photographer highlights the commodity value of the plant and implies the throwaway nature it has acquired.
