DescriptionGough studied BA Photography at Camberwell College of Arts and MA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. He uses the photogram process of laying objects directly on to the surface of photographic paper and exposing the paper with coloured light. These objects are parts of photographic apparatus one would find in most darkrooms.
Gough presents a tension between abstraction and representation: the viewer is invited to make associations with the photographs subject, which can be sometimes recognisable and sometimes ambiguous.
