DescriptionSroop studied BA Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins. The title of the piece plays on her Anglo-Indian dual culture and explores the social history of Britain though pub signs which stretches back almost a millennium. "The Golden Glassy" is a relatively modern pub name found in Asian neighbourhoods of the Midlands. 'Glassy' is an Anglo-Indian term literally meaning glass, while the ‘Golden' prefix mimics English traditional pub names; combined they describe a favoured Indian drink - the glass of whisky.
