DescriptionCarpenter studied BA Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts. He seeks to capture movement through the manner in which the sculptural object has been executed. Transforming sculpture, a traditionally static medium, Carpenter finds methods of preserving the movement of making. This piece is the first made on a hand turned lathe or skede that the artist constructed.
Carpenter won the Jerwood Sculpture Prize in 2001.
