DescriptionHopkins was the Head of Painting at Chelsea College of Arts from 1990 - 2006. This piece is from a body of work created after spending time in an artists' colony in New York State and shows a move away from painterly configurations of the late 80s toward a flatter, more iconic and deadpan body of painting.
