DescriptionKeane studied BA Textiles at Chelsea College of Arts. These works explore issues of identity and geography, using innovative techniques on leather panels incorporating found objects.
Notes: My final degree project was about mapping areas that my family come from and have lived or worked in, I was concentrating on interesting themes in each area such as colour, texture, architecture and journeys. And collecting materials for surface ideas and taking photos and drawing for imagery from speicifc sites. Then using the materials I found such as plastics and roofing materials and interior surfaces I combined them together to make interesting surfaces and textures for print, I then printed in many layers, building up imagery and textures in my surface ideas aimed for interiors, I wanted to create sustainable interior surfaces that would both represent the area or a specific site while using surface ideas that we 'found' in the area itself.
