DescriptionBeth studied PGDip Photography at Central Saint Martins. She says:
'This photograph is from a series entitled Performance Pieces, divided into two sections: Interior and Landscape. The project came from different ways of looking at the body and ideas of fragmentation through the camera. They reflect my interest in the authorship of images, which is why I use myself as the performer and photographer. I use the act of taking a photograph as an improvisation similar to that in dance. The work was made with reference to environmental performance art and painting. The environments used in the project ranged from a construction site in East London to fell, quarry and forest landscapes in Cumbria and an interior there, which I think of as home.'
