DescriptionMajor historiated initial 'D' in red, fully inhabited by a human face (a rather green face at that) set on a slightly cusped rectilinear ground in gold with black outlining. Stylised acanthus decoration extends from the left hand side, which, along with the gold dot (outlined in black) is very characteristic of Bolognese manuscripts from this period.
